Born in Ferrol in the province of La Coruña in 1969, Alberto Durán has a Law Degree from the University of Navarra (Pamplona, 1994), a full-time Master’s Degree in Economy and Business Management from the IESE Business School (Barcelona, 1996) and also undertook the IESE’s Senior Business Management Programme (Madrid, 2008).
He has an Expert’s Degree in National Defence from the Centre for Advanced National Defence Studies (CESEDEN, 32nd year).
At present he is Deputy Managing Director to the Chairman of Cooperation and Institutional Relations of the ONCE General Council, Executive Vice-Chairman of the ONCE Foundation, Chairman of ILUNION (ONCE’s Group of Social Enterprises) and Chairman of the ONCE Foundation for Latin America (FOAL).
He is also Second Vice-Chairman of the Spanish Association of Foundations, General Secretary of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Disabled People (CERMI), Chairman of FORÉTICA and Chairman of the Management Excellence Club.
He is a former Member of the EC's Group of Social Responsibility Experts.
